moi, the stage mother...

even back in college, all my friends called me "mommy". they say it's because i'm overprotective when it comes to my friends and that i will fight for them no matter what. well, guilty as charged! hahaha

so when patisya, one of my fave daughters and one of my best friends in the whole world got her first modelling job, the stage mom in me couldn't be contained! i actually recommended her for this project! when a friend called and said she needed a model who could preen sexily for the camera, i immediately thought of pat. she's the "artista" in our group. whenever kst (kay susan tayo, hahaha) or any gma show would need someone for their re-enactment, she was always on their list. sabi nga ni queenbee, "si pat kasi, walang hiya-hiya. palaging performance level!" :)

ladies with an attitude, fellows in the mood, don't just stand there, let's get to it, stike a pose, there's nothing to it... VOGUE!

for her photo shoot, she was given a totally different look. she had her hair texturized with natural-looking highlights. they even bleached her eyebrows to match her hair's lighter shade. when it came to the actual shoot, she was a pro! she could smile or pout in a snap, to the amazement of the entire crew, knowing this was her first time. i'm such a proud mom!

o diba, pang-FHM! one of the sylists, obviously mesmerized by pat's beauty (naks!), said "ayan, pwede ka nang pang-HFM!" eng! :)

stage mother and daughter celebrating at chili's after the shoot. photo taken by the stage boyfriend/ personal assistant (a.k.a. alvin ronario bwahaha). she's come a long way from the sobbing girl who resigned from her beloved show only to land herself in "marketing hell" in a little office somewhere in katipunan. with pesky stalkers to match! back in gma as the best executive assistant in the world, she finally reaps her reward. and so, i present to you... gma's new account executive for its number one client (UNILEVER!) who will soon earn millions and buy me a different iPhone for everyday of the week! hahaha congrats patisya! :)

a little mush...

my iPod can hold thousands of songs. yet my playlist is stubbornly set to my sarah mclachlan compilation :) recently though, i've been addicted to my iPod's shuffle function. it's like my daily horoscope, only in music. hehehe i think of it as a modern way to discern what the universe is telling me :)

last night, i was feeling all happy and content and i thought, in the few short years vond and i have been together, everything went from uncertain to perfect :) and right that minute, this song played...

"before you"

baby, before you well, i was bad news
in lettin' me love you i think i can get through

oh, baby before you well, i was so scared
i was a train wreck waitin' to happen
on the way to nowhere

and now i think it's kinda funny that you say you love me
you tell me that i'm crazy then you smile

and now i think i'll get through the end of the world
and now i think i'll get through bein' a girl
now i think i'll get through anything
and now i think i'll get through

now honey around youi'm feelin' so good
cause you picked me up out of the rough
and you polished me up and made me brand new

and baby before you, there was just a black hole
yeah i was beat down, blacked out
my darling you couldn't even know

but ever since i met you on a cloudy monday
i can't believe how much i love the rain

and now i think i'll get through the end of the world
and now I think i'll get through life as a girl
now i think i'll get through anything

really, i was a lost little girl back then, hitting different bars every night and just drinking myself to a stupor. i was still recovering from my mom's death when my dad and sister announced they were getting married (to other people, ofcourse hahaha)! i remember wishing i could just disappear when vond came my way ... and everything just kind of fell into place... :)

things that amused me last week :)

i was so tired last month that i decided to spend my entire vacation eating, SLEEPING, and watching date my mom (etc, baby!) :) surprisingly, i enjoyed staying in manila.

during holy week last year, i soooooo disgraced myself in puerto galera - to the eternal shame of my friends hehehe i think that was the last time i got properly drunk :) this picture is proof enough, don't you think? after three days, i got "confined" in my room for one whole week. i was typhoid girl and i blame the halo-halo in galera! and you know what, i'd gladly do it again next time, typhoid and all. i always say, never regret anything, even life's misfortunes! hehehe

staying in manila last week doesn't mean i had less fun. on the contrary, it was quite an adventure! before vond went to their house in ilocos, we decided to buy his "baon" from the grocery. and because that "baon" included around a dozen cans of del monte pineapple, we decided to take the elevator even if his car was only parked one level below. unfortunately, the minute we got inside the elevator, the department store management decided to kill the elevator electricity. meaning we were stuck inside! omigod, i so panicked! good thing i still had cellphone signal and was able to text pat my farewell message: "pat, we are soooo gonna die!" hahaha too dramatic but i was really worried everyone will go home without knowing we were still inside the elevator. it was closing time, after all! when they finally told us through the speakers that we were gonna be rescued, we decided to have a souvenir photo! (in the face of death, i even had time to powder my face before this shot was taken!) oh well :)

my next adventure happened on black saturday. an unsuspecting woman (a.k.a. miranda priestly) asked me to accompany her in buying a "cheap" laptop as replaement for her stolen sony vaio. i was just nodding my head to all the laptop models she was showing me, all the time silently thinking "these are crap!" hahaha but when she was about to pay for an unknown brand laptop, i snapped! and in all drama, i said "you cannot do this! you can't! you are working so hard, you deserve a mac!" potah! and she just laughed! hehehe after an hour more of arguing, we got to this part...

miranda priestly buying her kick ass intel core duo 2, super fast macbook! hahaha apple should be paying me for this!

i love the smell of a new apple laptop. i miss having one. a new one, i mean. oh maybe, when the os leopard comes out :)

and finally, i saw this jeepney a day after miranda bought her macbook. talk about signs! unfortunately, i got out my camphone too late and vond refused to detour just so i can take a decent picture (men! *rolls eyes*). anyway, the appe logo is still visible! and he must be an old macintosh fan since that logo was replaced years ago! or maybe the jeepney owner worked abroad for apple computer and decided to buy that as a daily source of income for his family here in the philippines hahaha like those "katas ng saudi" jeepneys i see around :)

the old, colorful apple logo before it was replaced by the classier white one :) steve jobs is such a genius! i always fantasize about being his only daughter! he'd sooooo love me that i'd be a spoiled rotten kid testing all the iPod models straight from the production line... and giving away freebies to all my dear friends! hahaha lord, please let this dream come true :)
