le boutique! :)
we enjoyed tagaytay so much last weekend that i've decided to surprise vond with another tagaytay trip. on his birthday! after sonya's garden, the next destination is the boutique bed and breakfast - a 7 room (only!) hotel with very personalized services to make you feel like some sort of royal heiress! the princess in me was sooooo at home! even vond was excited and that is saying a lot. he's usually unimpressed with everything especially my antics! :)here, there are no room numbers. instead, the rooms are named after a particular emotion: i dare, i dream, i desire, i lust, i love, i surrender, and i escape. the owners claim these emotions are all stages of that process called falling in love :)
the second floor hallway that leads to the "i lust" room, the equivalent of the presidential suite in other hotels :)
before checking in, you get to choose your toiletries from their "pamper me" line. soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and even room fragrance in really yummy scents!
we got the tea tree and rosemary & oatmeal scented soap. the smell makes you want to eat them! :)
i love these room scents because they instantly transform any room
in case you want more of these, you can buy them at reasonable prices from the "pamper me" section. beats the bodyshop :)vond and i left manila at around 12 because as usual, it took me forever to take a bath. good thing the traffic was okay and we made it at exactly 2 pm, check-in time. hehehe after that, we realized we were sooooo hungry and popped out of our room to the boutique's famous hawaiian bbq restaurant.
house specialty: baby back ribs. oh my god, the meat is so soft you can easily pry it with your fork. yum! yum!
an hour later, here's what hurricane vond and angel left :)
details, details. salvation can truly be found in details. i love this entrance to our "i love" room!
the "i love" bed is so inviting and warm and .... hehehe
the second after this shot was taken, the bed never looked the same! :)
the famous tagaytay view from our VERY OWN patio. ahhhh... bliss!
i say "free fruit basket". vond says "included-in-the-room-price fruit basket". whatever! another great thing about the boutique is their entertainment haul --- monster lcd tv, iPod ready speakers, and 24-hour wifi connection. i mean, i'm all for relaxing and stuff but i really need my laptop, tv, and iPod hahaha
samsung lcd tv, klipsch iPod speakers (vond says they're really really good and he's right. sarah mclachlan sounded even more amzing!)
guess who plopped himsef in front of the tv? and guess who hogged the remote all night?
tagaytay looks utterly magnificent at this time. the image is so ethereal i totally forgot about all the work i left behind in manila. i guess it's one of those moments that we connect with something so grand and beautiful. it gave me a feeling of absolute certainty just because :) what can i say? i'm a city dweller, i'm easily mesmerized. it's just that i'm used to seeing stuff like this in iloilo or the beach that i'm amazed something this pretty happens only two hours away from manila. :)
the boutique bed and breakfast's beautiful facade at night :)
our very own patio. that's our room beneath the white curtains :)
an hour of massage will only cost you 6 hundred. and she is sooo good, it's absolutely worth it.another surprise: just before bedtime, they deliver hot chocolate for "better sleep". god, this is something i can totally get used to.
guess who tagged along? of course, he just had to have his picture taken! masky loved the boutique too!
i was speechless. it wasn't a breakfast tray, after all. more of a small dining table! hahaha :) breakfast in bed is absolutely the best... milk, coffee, chilled juices, assorted bread with jam and butter, tapa, eggs, fried rice, omelette, sausages, and fresh melon and mango in cream! whew! :)
do we really have to go now? i can stay here like this forever...
after much prodding, i finally took a bath. here, i'm plotting some evil plan to extend our stay. didn't work though :(
i was sooo sad upon our return to manila. and so we decided to have luch at fat michael's, this cozy little house/resto in makati.
with its warm and comfy interiors, having lunch here was the perfect end to a perfect getaway!happy birthday again honey! :)
*** my friend karla commented that the photos i took were beautiful. so let me get this straight: i don't do nice, classy photos of places and other people. because i can't :) the beautiful pictures, i got from clickthecity and anton.blogs.com
